I've been busy working on a menu for a wedding. The only problem with menus is I always get hungry having to read them and type them. I know - there could be bigger problems! The bride's mother water colored the artwork at the top. She sent me the artwork and I used it on the invitations, stationery and now their menus. It's definitely a fun project for a Monday!
French Blue & Hayden Avery has moved out of it's retail location. It is now Hayden Avery Fine Stationery and is specializing in custom invitations, stationery and monogrammed gifts. All items seen on this blog can still be purchased to your specifications. Please contact us at 512-799-4164 or hafinestationery(at)gmail.com to purchase or inquire about items seen on this blog.

It's Thursday!
We are almost to the weekend...
Thought I'd share this pretty wedding invitation. I think this is such a pretty combination of traditional with some "flare". It is a two-color letterpress invitation by Dauphine Press (who can do no wrong).
Enjoy!

Personalized Leather
I just had a meeting with one of our kindest reps, Bob Cassmeyer, who owns Cassmeyer Collection in Dallas. He is my kind of rep (knowledgeable, honest and NOT pushy)! I looked at some new items as well as revisited vendors that I love and have carried for years. One such vendor was Graphic Image, which we've written about before (HERE and HERE). We do a whole lot of their date books as well as their wedding albums (photo albums, guest books, etc.). All of their products are leather and can be personalized.
One of the items that I really want right now is one of these key chains. Although they are one of the few products that cannot be personalized they are such a great price point ($25) and are so handsome. You can order one of these anytime from us (although, I think we'll have some in the store for the holidays as well).
Another fabulous item that I also want (big surprise) are these awesome clutches! They hold so much and are practical and good looking (does it get any better).
Look at this clutch personalized!
Also shown here is the personalized phone iPhone cover.
I think these clutches would also be really nice bridesmaids gifts.
Finally, although it might seem a little early - the 2015 calendars are READY! I know most people don't order theirs till at least October, but at least you can start thinking about what color you'll "need" this year. It always takes me a LONG time to decide on a color. However, this is with out a doubt my go-to calendar. My whole life depends on this calendar. I've said it before - I know lots of people use their phones but I cannot function that way. I have to write things down for them to actually get accomplished. This is THE best calendar.

Talley Ho Time!
There is nothing more fun than getting orders in from Talley Ho (the parent company is Leontine Linens for those of you who are monogram aficionados). Because each bag is custom made they take about 6 weeks to arrive in the store and it is SO worth the wait! We've had quite a few orders recently which makes our slow summers a little more fun. Shown above are the "bowler" travel bag in black seersucker with aqua trim. The large jewel round in aqua mist moire and coral satin. The medium travel bag in coral moire and pink trim. I seriously love all of these for different reasons - which is partially why I don't own more of these bags, because I have SUCH a hard time deciding.

New Crane Stationery Album
Yesterday we received the new (and improved) Crane & Co. Stationery album. I am pleased to share that it has some great new liners and examples that I am sure will be appealing to many people. I am a pretty tough critic (after being in this business for as long as I have) and I am relieved and excited that they have also "reintroduced" some of their old card stock colors and monograms. They needed to freshen things up and I believe they did. Stop by the store and enjoy our AC and look at this
lovely new addition.

It's a Small World
I love when I have those real life examples that really our world is pretty small. Dauphine Press, one of our fabulous letterpress companies sends out emails about once a week with samples of work they've done. The beautiful sample that I received last week is actually someone I know! Dauphine Press is based in New York and they have retailers all over the country. The above rehearsal dinner invitation, menu and reply card is for the editor of The Scout Guide Austin, Kelsay Bentley, who got married in Tennessee. French Blue & Hayden Avery were featured in last years Scout Guide Austin, so we had the pleasure of working with Kelsay on that. But, so random right? Bottom line - I ADORE her rehearsal dinner invitation. We would all be so lucky to have something as lovely. Nice Work Dauphine Press!
